VHP claims Christian missionaries tried to transform folks in Mathura village; cops discover ‘nothing’

MATHURA: The Vishva Hindu Parishad Sunday claimed some Christian missionaries from Firozabad had been making an attempt to transform ladies and youngsters at a village in Mathura, however police mentioned they discovered “nothing like religious conversion” there.

VHP district president Vinod Raghav mentioned they had been knowledgeable by the residents of Habbipur village, which is beneath Mahavan police station, that some folks from the Christian missionaries had been making an attempt to “mislead” Hindu households “and hatching a conspiracy to convert them”.

“Following this, I sent a few workers of the VHP and Bajrang Dal to visit the village and find the truth,” he mentioned.

He claimed the Christian missionaries had been holding some “programme” in the home of 1 Bunny Singh who mentioned they had been doing ‘pooja-paath’ (rituals), and that each one current on the home had been his family.

On villagers’ allegations that such programmes had been being organised in that home each Sunday for a while now and folks had been informed constructive issues about Christianity, Bunny Singh mentioned even Hindus go to the dargahs and mazars to supply chadars, “but no one objects to such practices”.

“Even so, if anyone has any objection, we will not hold the prayer programme,” Singh mentioned.

Senior Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav mentioned, “The village pradhan of Habbipur MP Yadav informed us about alleged religious conversion. But, when the police reached there, nothing like religious conversion was found.”

“However, seeing the sensitivity of the issue, we will inquire about things from the people, and definitely act if something is found to be wrong.”
