Several lecturers’ and workers’ associations on Saturday introduced that they are going to be collaborating within the counting of votes for the Panchayat elections on Sunday. Claiming that many lecturers misplaced their lives to Covid-19 after they have been deployed in panchayat ballot obligation, the associations had on Thursday threatened to boycott the counting of votes on Sunday. However, after having a digital assembly with senior authorities officers, the associations introduced that they’ll participate in counting, supplied that Covid protocols are strictly in place.
Virendra Mishra, spokesperson of Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh, on Saturday night time mentioned that the boycott name has been withdrawn by all associations. “The Supreme Court has ordered that counting will be done with Covid protocol, and the government has assured us that it will be followed. So we have agreed to take part in the counting tomorrow,” mentioned Mishra after the assembly.

Slamming the Uttar Pradesh authorities for conducting panchayat elections amid the raging COVID-19 pandemic, Congress chief Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday mentioned what is going on within the state is nothing lower than a “crime against humanity” and the state election fee (SEC) is “playing along”.
The Congress common secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh claimed that 700 lecturers, together with one who was pregnant and compelled to attend ballot obligation, have died within the state. Polling for the four-phase panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh ended on Thursday. A voter turnout of 75 per cent was recorded within the closing part.
