MYSURU: Political analyst, social activist and president of Swaraj India Party Yogendra Yadav, who has joined the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra, shared his ideas with The New Sunday Express on why this journey is vital and the way it will deliver the nation collectively to struggle politics of hatred.
Yadav, who has been strolling practically 20 km day-after-day for the final one month, mentioned the yatra has proven the promise of difficult the dominant narrative and highlighting actual points bothering society.
Asked about 9 days of the yatra within the state, he mentioned, “We started with each expectation and apprehension. Expectation as a result of that is the land that provides deepest mental, cultural and literary sources to fight the politics of hate. Apprehension as a result of the reception in Kerala was so good and we had been fearful if Karnataka might match it. But it has turned out higher than what I anticipated with famous author Devanuru Mahadeva welcoming the yatra, many cultural icons expressing assist and members of the family of Gauri Lankesh strolling alongside,” he mentioned.
Asked if it would have any political implications within the state that’s going for polls, he mentioned, “Unpopularity of the BJP government is feeding the success of the yatra here. What matters to me is the resolve to take on politics of hatred for which Karnataka is made a prime laboratory. This needs to be defeated and if that means BJP losing in the election. nothing can be better than that.”
