The Union ministries of atmosphere and tribal affairs have collectively determined to provide extra powers to the tribal communities in managing the forest sources.
In an official assertion, the ministry of atmosphere mentioned a “Joint Communication” to this impact is scheduled to be signed on the Indira Paryawaran Bhawan right here on Tuesday.
It pertains to an efficient implementation of the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006, which is often often known as the Forest Rights Act (FRA).

The Act recognises and vests the forest rights and occupation in forest land in forest-dwelling scheduled tribes (FDSTs) and different conventional forest dwellers (OTFDs) who’ve been residing in such forests for generations however whose rights couldn’t be recorded and supplies a framework for recording the forest rights so vested and the character of proof required for such recognition and vesting in respect of forest land.
