UAPA prices in opposition to arrested PFI males in Bihar

PATNA: Bihar authorities has initiated motion in opposition to members of the novel Islamic organisation, Popular Front of India (PFI) and its associates following a directive from the Union Home Ministry. The Centre has already banned PFI for its alleged involvement in illegal actions, which have been prejudicial to the integrity, sovereignty and safety of the nation. However, the state authorities has initiated motion underneath provisions of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) 1967.

According to sources, Bihar dwelling division has requested the District Magistrate (DMs) to take motion in opposition to seven PFI suspects on the premise of inputs supplied by the Union Home Ministry.  The Union Home Ministry had written to state dwelling secretary Amir Subhani for offering names, particulars of financial institution accounts and PAN numbers of the members.

Later, particular secretary (dwelling division) KS Anupam requested all district magistrates to provoke motion in opposition to PFI suspects on the premise of those inputs. The Union Home Ministry’s undersecretary SP Choudhary had earlier despatched the main points of seven PFI suspects to the state chief secretary of Bihar Subhani, who subsequently requested the authorities involved to ebook the seven suspects underneath UAPA.

Among seven suspects, 4 are from Darbhanga and one every from Araria, Sitamarhi and Madhubani. The PFI suspects have their financial institution accounts in these districts. “We have obtained a communique from the state dwelling division to tighten the noose round PFI activists and its associates.

The inputs have been shared with SP asking him to take motion accordingly,” mentioned Araria DM Inayat Khan. NIA had performed raids on the PFI members in Phulwarisharif locality within the state capital in September and arrested its three members.
