RANCHI: Three minors died in lightning strikes at two locations in Jharkhand’s Hazaribag on Tuesday, an official stated.
In Salwar space, two individuals died and 12 others have been injured in a lightning strike whereas they have been getting back from a Rath Yatra procession, he stated.
Eight of them suffered grievous accidents, he stated. The incident befell round 4.45 pm alongside a stretch of National Highway-100 (Hazaribag-Bagodar Road).
“Two devotees were killed and 12 injured while they were returning from a Rath Yatra,” Sub-Divisional Officer, Hazaribag Sadar, Vidyabhushan Kumar, advised PTI.
Kumar stated the injured have been taken to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital in Hazaribag, and are being handled at its trauma centre.
The SDO stated the deceased have been recognized as Sudhanshu Pandey (17) and Arun Kumar Gupta (16).
In one other incident of a lightning strike, a 10-year-old boy misplaced his life in Keredari within the district, officers stated.
Meanwhile, the climate division issued an alert for medium to extreme thunderstorms within the state for the following three days from Tuesday.
