Two killed, 38 injured as Uttarakhand Roadways bus bus falls into gorge

DEHRADUN: A girl and her daughter had been killed and 38 injured on Sunday when an Uttarakhand Roadways bus by which they had been travelling from Mussoorie to Dehradun fell right into a deep gorge, police stated.

The accident occurred on a turning close to the ITBP camp when the driving force misplaced management of the car, plunging the bus right into a 70-metre-deep gorge, Mussoorie police station SHO D S Kohli stated.

There had been 40 passengers — 16 girls, 19 males and 5 kids — within the bus on the time of the accident, he stated.

A mother-daughter duo from Mussoorie died within the accident whereas 38 others had been injured.

The injured had been rushed to a hospital and 26 of them had been referred to the Doon and Max hospitals in Dehradun.

Rash driving apparently led to the accident as the driving force couldn’t management the car whereas negotiating the flip, he stated.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed grief on the lack of lives within the accident and requested officers to make all preparations for the therapy of the injured.
