Three coaches of Puducherry Express derail in Mumbai; no report of anybody getting injured

MUMBAI: Three coaches of the Dadar-Puducherry Express (Train no 11005) derailed close to Matunga station in Mumbai on Friday evening after the engine of the CSMT-Gadag Express dashed it from the rear aspect, a Central Railway official mentioned.

So far there have been no experiences of anybody getting injured within the incident which happened round 9.45 pm. The incident happened a day earlier than the 169th anniversary of the primary run of a passenger practice in India.

The Dadar-Puducherry Chalukya Express was getting into on DOWN quick line from platform 7 of the Dadar Terminus, when the CSMT-Gadag Express, which departed round 9.30 pm, dashed it from the rear aspect on a crossing, the official mentioned.

Shivaji Sutar, chief spokesperson of Central Railway, mentioned that reduction trains had been despatched to the positioning.

The visitors on the Up and Down gradual line, which was suspended for a while for security causes, had been restored, he added.

Quaiser Khalid, commissioner, Government Railway Police, mentioned in a tweet that there was a “minor collision” between the 2 down trains and the Puducherry Express was being evacuated. This was the second derailment on the Central Railway part this month.

Earlier, the Lokmanya Tilak-Jaynagar Express (Pawan Express) had derailed close to Nashik in Maharashtra on April 3, 2022.
