Supreme Court quashes Maharashtra regulation granting reservation to Maratha neighborhood

The Supreme Court on Wednesday quashed the Maharashtra regulation granting reservation to the Maratha neighborhood in admissions and authorities jobs within the state. The high courtroom made it clear in its judgment that folks from the Maratha neighborhood can’t be declared as educationally and socially backward neighborhood to convey them inside the reserved class.
A five-judge bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, L Nageswara Rao, S Abdul Nazeer, Hemant Gupta and S Ravindra Bhat stated that it finds no distinctive circumstance to justify exceeding the 50 p.c cap set by Indra Sawhney judgment.
