PATNA: The martyred IAS officer G Krishnaiah’s partner may switch to Patna High Court in direction of the Bihar authorities’s decision to amend jail pointers for the early launch of jailed gangster-turned-politician Ananad Mohan.

Former IPS officer Amitabh Kumar Das talked about that he had talked about with Krishnaiah’s partner Uma Devi on this connection. Uma Devi may file a petition throughout the High Court in direction of the state authorities’s decision, he added. G Krishnaiah, a 1985-batch IAS officer, was an area of Andhra Pradesh.

“We have already written to the governor in this regard. It is unfortunate that Bihar IAS Officers’ Association did not object to the state government’s decision to amend the Bihar Jail Manual 2012 for an early release of a person who was involved in the murder of an IAS officer in cold blood,” the retired IPS
officer added.

Presently, Anand Mohan, former Sheohar MP, is serving his life sentence in Saharsa district jail after he was found accountable of instigating a mob to shoot at and lynch the IAS officer in December 1994. Krishnaiah, then the Gopalganj district Justice of the Peace in Bihar, was murdered on the outskirts of Muzaffarpur whereas returning to Gopalganj after attending an official meeting in Patna.

Earlier, the “murderer of a government servant on duty” class of prisoners was not eligible to get the benefit of remission of their sentences. But the state authorities deleted the category itself by amending the Bihar Prison Manual, 2012 with the intention to verify the early launch of Anand Mohan, a distinguished Rajput chief of the Kosi space.

Anand Mohan has already completed 14 years of jail time interval. After the modification of the jail handbook, he is perhaps dealt with as a normal prisoner and could possibly be let loose from jail. He is in the meanwhile out on parole to attend the ring ceremony of his son Chetan Anand, an RJD MLA from Sheohar. He has been given thrice parole over the previous six months.

Former IPS officer Das talked about that the sentences of a rape convict, a terror convict and one convicted for murdering a public servant could not be commuted.

Meanwhile, the Bihar authorities has initiated the strategy of releasing prisoners from jails. Prisoners whose sentences is perhaps commuted would first be acknowledged on the district diploma. Later, all these proposals
could possibly be despatched to a screening committee sooner than they’re forwarded to the regulation division for its consent. After the consent, the district administration could possibly be requested to launch prisoners.

Meanwhile, Patna High Court advocate Rakesh Kumar Pandey talked about that the state authorities’s decision to delete the supply is perhaps challenged throughout the High Court. It is also considered for licensed scrutiny, he added.
