Six-month-old dies in Madhya Pradesh as ambulance arrives three hours late

BHOPAL: A six-month-old died due to the unavailability of an ambulance throughout the Datia district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. 

A  teenager dying throughout the lap of a helpless mother, reportedly amid the delayed arrival of an ambulance at a neighborhood properly being centre in Datia district has uncovered the scenario of public properly being corporations throughout the state. 

The 108 ambulance arrived on the concerned CHC three hours after it was requested. Two completely different ambulances, funded by MLA’s Local Area Development Fund, parked on the an identical CHC have been unavailable, as a result of the teenager’s mother couldn’t afford the gasoline. 

The beautiful incident occurred on the Indergarh neighborhood properly being centre (CHC) which comes beneath the Sewda Assembly constituency, presently represented throughout the Vidhan Sabha by Congress’s Kunwar Ghanshyam Singh.

According to research, a scheduled caste girl Renu Jatav, a neighborhood of Baderi village, rushed her severely ailing six-month-old teenager to the Indergarh CHC at spherical 11 am on Thursday. With the child affected by acute pneumonic indicators, the on-duty doctor referred the child to the Datia District Hospital after preliminary remedy.

Renu requested the on-duty doctor to rearrange an ambulance for rushing her teenager to the district hospital, after which the doctor rang for the 108 ambulance.

Renu Jatav blamed inadequate remedy on the CHC and delay in an ambulance for her teenager’s lack of life.

Taking cognizance of the matter, a workers headed by SDM, the district’s chief medical and properly being officer (CMHO), the native police station in value and the tehsildar was despatched by Datia district collector to the Indergarh CHC on Friday to analysis your total incident.

The workers recorded statements of Anganwadi and ASHA workers, hospital employees, obligation doctor and ambulance driver.

Based on the recorded statements of all stakeholders, the enquiry workers will restore accountability for the alleged negligence. “Whoever is found responsible for the alleged negligence will face strict action,” an official forming part of the workers acknowledged on Friday.

“The probe is incomplete, as the statements of the woman, whose child died, are yet to be recorded,” the Datia district CMHO Dr RB Kurele acknowledged.

When queried regarding the delay throughout the ambulance, Dr Kurele acknowledged, “There is a clear-cut government protocol to ensure the immediate availability of 108 ambulances based on the severity of the patient. The other ambulances are operated by the Patient Welfare Committee on a no profit no loss basis. But in case of emergencies or serious patients, such ambulances too must be provided free of cost.”
