At least two unidentified terrorists neutralised in an ongoing operation in Kutpora area of Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

According to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the troops of 178 Bn CRPF along with the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a joint cordon and search operation in Kutpora, Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that during the night, terrorists attempted to infiltrate into Indian territory in Machil sector of Kupwara district of North Kashmir. Officials said the intruders were challenged by the jawans and killed three of them.

He said that during the operation, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan, an army officer and three soldiers were killed. Meanwhile, in Srinagar, Defense Spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia said that around one o’clock in the night, BSF patrols noticed suspicious activities near the Anti Infiltration Obstacle System (LoC fence), about 3.5 km from the Line of Control.
