Shiv Sena staff protest in Kolhapur over ED raids in opposition to Maharashtra minister Anil Parab

MUMBAI: Workers of the Shiv Sena in Kolhapur staged a protest in opposition to the Enforcement Directorate’s raids at premises of Maharashtra minister Anil Parab on Thursday, police mentioned. The protest was organised round 11:30 am by former Sena MLA and government president of the state planning fee Rajendra Kshirsagar, an official mentioned.

Sena staff gathered close to the statue of Tara Rani within the metropolis and raised slogans in opposition to the ED’s motion on occasion chief Parab, and put up a banner criticising the probe company, he mentioned.

The ED on Thursday raided a number of places in Maharashtra as a part of a cash laundering probe in opposition to Parab and others linked to alleged irregularities in a land deal in coastal Dapoli space of Ratnagiri district and different expenses, it was acknowledged.

The probe company has filed a recent case in opposition to the minister and others underneath the prison sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). At least seven premises, together with Parab’s official residence in Mumbai, linked premises in Dapoli and Pune are being searched by the company.
