SBSTC contract employees name off their week-long strike

KOLKATA: Buses of South Bengal State Transport Corporation (SBSTC) have been again on the roads on Wednesday after contract drivers and their assistants referred to as off a week-long strike which they resorted to over a number of calls for.

The agitation was withdrawn after Transport Minister Snehasish Chakraborty on Tuesday urged them to name off the agitation instantly in view of the Durga puja season and gave assurance that 26 days’ work for the contract employees in a month can be ensured.
