Recruitment rip-off: CBI finds disparity between variations of Bengal minister, advisory panel members

KOLKATA: CBI sleuths, throughout interrogation on the irregularities detected in class appointments of West Bengal, have discovered discrepancies within the variations offered by state minister Partha Chatterjee with that of members of an advisory committee that regarded into the recruitments, an official of the company mentioned on Friday.

According to the official, the minister informed the CBI that he had little or no details about the advisory committee’s day-to-day functioning and virtually no management over it.

Meanwhile, the probe company on Friday grilled minister of state for training, Paresh Adhikari, for 9 hours because the a part of the investigation into the recruitment rip-off.

On Thursday, too, Adhikari, after a lot drama that had unfolded after he and his daughter went briefly lacking, appeared earlier than the company detectives for his questioning.

The minister was “not cooperating” with the CBI sleuths, when requested him a number of questions on his daughter appointment to a state government-aided college, the official added.

Notably, the Calcutta High Court, which has directed the CBI to inquire into the rip-off, on Friday dismissed Adhikari’s daughter from her job and requested her to return the wage she had drawn throughout her tenure as a trainer.
