Rahul Bhat’s killing: Kashmiri Pandits take out protest march in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Kashmiri Pandits took out a protest march on Saturday in opposition to the killing of Rahul Bhat and staged a shit in entrance of the well-known clock tower in Lal Chowk demanding justice for the slain authorities worker.

Rahul Bhat (35), who had acquired the job of a clerk below the particular employment package deal for migrants in 20120-11, was gunned down by terrorists contained in the Tehsil workplace in Chadoora city on May 12. Kashmiri Pandits assembled close to Bund within the Lal Mandi space of the town and held a puja for Bhat on the banks of the Jhelum river, following which they started to march in the direction of Lal Chowk.

After reaching Lal Chowk, the protesters held a sit-in demanding justice for Bhat and strict motion in opposition to the authorities in Budgam in addition to the assailants. Raising slogans in opposition to the administration, in addition they demanded that Kashmiri Pandits, who acquired jobs below the prime minister’s package deal, be relocated.

Later, the protestors marched to the BJP’s state workplace within the Jawahar Nagar space of the town, held a sit-in outdoors it and raised slogans in opposition to the occasion. The protestors dispersed peacefully afterwards. Protests have been held at a number of locations in Jammu and Kashmir over the killing of Bhat in addition to the “failure” of the administration in offering safety to Kashmiri Pandit workers.
