The newly inducted Rafale fighter plane will function in India’s Republic Day parade on January 26 and culminate the flypast by finishing up the ‘Vertical Charlie’ formation, the Indian Air Force (IAF) stated on Monday.

In the ‘Vertical Charlie’ formation, the plane flies at low altitude, pulls up vertically and conducts rolls earlier than stabilising at increased altitude.

“The flypast will culminate with a single Rafale aircraft carrying out a ‘Vertical Charlie’ formation,” stated Wing Commander Indranil Nandi.

A complete of 38 IAF plane and 4 planes of the Indian Army will take part within the flypast on January 26, he stated.
