‘Political vendetta’: Uddhav authorities eliminated safety cowl of 16 insurgent MLAs, says Shinde

MUMBAI: Dissident Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde on Saturday alleged that the Maharashtra authorities has withdrawn the safety cowl supplied on the residences of 16 insurgent legislators, together with himself, and dubbed the motion as “political vendetta”.

Shinde, who’s at the moment tenting in Guwahati with the insurgent legislators, tweeted a letter signed by the 16 MLAs that’s addressed to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil.

In the letter, the legislators mentioned CM Thackeray and the leaders of the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance will likely be accountable if any hurt is triggered to their relations.

In his tweet, Shinde alleged that the safety cowl of the 16 insurgent Sena legislators was withdrawn on the orders of Thackeray and Walse Patil resulting from “political vendetta”.

“The government is responsible for the security of these legislators,” he added. In the letter, the legislators demanded that their safety cowl be reinstated.

“If our family members are harmed, then the chief minister, leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government like Sharad Pawar, Sanjay Raut and Aaditya Thackeray will be responsible,” the letter mentioned.

The safety cowl, which is supplied at their residence in addition to to their relations as per the protocol, has been withdrawn illegally and unlawfully as an act of revenge, it mentioned.

The MVA authorities has been going through a disaster of survival after a majority of Sena MLAs shifted their loyalty to Shinde and are tenting in Guwahati.
