Over 100 roads closed in Himachal following snowfall in excessive altitude

SHIMLA: More than 100 roads have been blocked in Himachal Pradesh following a snowfall within the larger reaches of the hill state for the previous three days, official sources stated on Wednesday.

According to the sources from the catastrophe administration division, 90 roads have been blocked in Lahaul and Spiti, six in Kullu, together with National Highways 03 and 305 at Rohtang cross and Jalori cross, 4 in Kullu, three in Kangra, two in Chamba and one in Mandi.

The Tindi  Pangi street within the Udaipur subdivision of the tribal Lahaul and Spiti district was blocked following a landslide that occurred 70 km away on Wednesday morning.

No lack of life was reported within the incident. Meanwhile, the restoration work is in progress, they stated.

Cold wave circumstances are prevailing in larger altitude areas with Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti being the coldest place within the state after its minimal temperature dropped to minus 6.9 diploma Celsius.

Meanwhile, Kalpa within the tribal Kinnaur district shivered at minus 0.5 diploma C.

Key vacationer resorts of Manali, Narkanda, Kufri, Shimla, Dalhousie and Dharamshala recorded a low temperature of two.0 diploma C, 2.6 diploma C, 3.8 diploma C, 5.7 diploma C, 6.8 diploma C and eight.4 diploma C, respectively.

The native meteorological workplace has predicted dry climate within the area for the following two days and light-weight to average rain and snow on November 19.
