NEW DELHI: Amid claims about efforts being made to extend the illustration of officers belonging to SC and ST communities in all-India civil providers, solely 166 candidates from Schedule Tribes, 340 from Schedule Caste and 695 from OBCs have been recruited to India’s three distinguished classes of civil providers in 5 years.
Sharing particulars of the appointments made to all-India providers, such because the IAS, IPS and Indian Forest Service, the federal government stated that 2,163 recruitments have been made since 2018 to 2022 for IAS. Among them, 68 candidates belonging to ST and 140 to SCs have been recruited for IAS.
According to official knowledge, 288 OBC candidates have been recruited in 5 years amongst complete 2,163 recruitments made for the IAS. Similarly, the federal government recruited 1,403 candidates of various classes for IPS from 2018 to 2022 by the UPSC. But among the many complete IPS recruitments, solely 62 ST and 129 SC candidates have been recruited along with the recruitment of 229 OBC candidates.
A senior official stated a complete of 799 candidates have been recruited for Indian Forest Service from 2018 to 2022, together with solely 36 ST candidates, 71 SC and 178 OBC candidates over the last 5 years.
