Odisha’s former Chief Minister Hemananda Biswal dies at age 82

BHUBANESWAR: Former Odisha Chief Minister and outstanding tribal Congress chief Hemananda Biswal died whereas present process therapy for pneumonia right here on the age of 82 years Friday, members of the family stated.

Biswal’s daughter Sunita stated the previous chief minister breathed his final at a personal hospital right here. He was affected by pneumonia and is survived by 5 daughters- Sabita, Sanjukya, Manjiulata, Sunita and Anita.

Biswal additionally represented Sundergarh Constituency within the Lok Sabha, and was a six-time MLA from Jharsuguda district, in addition to being the state’s chief minister twice. He was elected chief minister for the primary time for the interval December 7,1989 to March 5, 1990 and once more from December 6,1999 to March 5, 2000.

He was the primary tribal chief minister of Odisha. He was elected to the Assembly for the primary time in 1974 and continued until 1977. Later he grow to be an MLA in 1980 and held the publish until 2004 from Laikera Assembly section.

Biswal began his profession from panchayat politics after a short stint as a college trainer in Jharsugudda district. Condolence poured in after the information broke.
