Nine unique animals died in zoo close to Gujarat’s Statue of Unity in two years

AHMEDABAD: Over the final two years, a dozen animals and birds — 9 of them of unique selection — died on the zoo at Jungle Safari Park close to the Statue of Unity in Kevadia in Narmada, the BJP-led Gujarat authorities instructed the Assembly on Wednesday. As many as 28 marsh crocodiles, six gharials, 300 budgerigars, 200 lovebirds, 200 finches, 102 rose-ringed parakeets, 66 cockatiels, 30 diamond doves, 5 thamin deer, and three Indian gray wolves had been among the many 940 animals introduced within the first 12 months.

The park, popularly generally known as the ‘jungle safari’, is a state-of-art sanctuary teeming with unique animals and birds from the varied biogeographic areas of the world. It is situated on the picturesque hills close to the tallest statue on the earth ‘The Statue of Unity’. The important function of the park is that guests can see animals in an open setting with the forest offering a safari form of setting.
