Nine lifeless in Shimla temple collapse, Several feared trapped

As many as 9 individuals died and dozens are feared trapped after a Shiv temple in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla collapsed as a consequence of heavy rain on Monday, the State CM stated. 

“Distressing news has emerged from Shimla, where the Shiv Mandir at Summer Hill collapsed as a result of the heavy rainfall. As of now, nine bodies have been retrieved. The local administration is diligently working to clear the debris in order to rescue individuals who may still be trapped. Om Shanti,” he tweeted.

The police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) officers are finishing up rescue operations on the Lord Shiva temple within the Summer Hill space.

Several homes have been reportedly buried beneath the mud and slush introduced down by the landslide within the Fagli space.

The devotees had gathered to supply prayers on the event of Sawan and round 25-30 individuals have been current within the temple when the tragedy passed off, stated a police official to IANS. 

A rescue operation on the web site is at the moment underway.
