Nine youngsters rescued from manufacturing unit throughout anti-child labour raid in Noida

NOIDA: Nine youngsters, who have been illegally employed at a garment manufacturing unit in Noida, has been rescued by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Gautam Buddh Nagar police, officers mentioned on Wednesday.

The youngsters, together with six ladies and three boys, hail from totally different elements of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and have been rescued on Tuesday following a tip-off acquired by the police.

“The raid was carried out over a tip-off about child labour in the factory located in Sector 65 here. The raid team also comprised officials of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and the Childline,” AHTU in-charge Vinod Panwar mentioned.

After being rescued, the youngsters have been taken for his or her medical examination put up which they have been all admitted to the shelter house in accordance with the principles, Panwar mentioned.

Another AHTU official Devendra Singh, who was a part of the raid, mentioned among the youngsters had been working within the manufacturing unit since final six months whereas a few them have been there for over one 12 months.

Another official mentioned that the operator of the manufacturing unit claimed that two of the “rescued” staff are aged over 18 years and has submitted paperwork of proof to corroborate his claims.

“The claims are being verified now,” the official mentioned.
