Navy to buy 38 BrahMos with a range of 450 km

The Indian Navy has decided to purchase a new upgraded version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile to increase the firepower of sea guard warships. The new version of the BrahMos missile has a range of 450 km. The Navy has put forward the proposal for its purchase. The new BrahMos missiles will be deployed on the new warship being built at Visakhapatnam. These warships will be part of active service in the Navy in the near future.

Quoting government sources, the ANI has informed that the Navy has prepared a proposal of 1,800 crore for the purchase of 38 new advanced BrahMos missiles. This proposal has been sent to the Ministry of Defense. Hopefully this proposal will be approved soon. The new upgraded version of BrahMos will be the main offensive weapon of the naval warship. Earlier, missiles of the second version of BrahMos are also deployed on other naval warships.

The Indian Navy recently conducted a successful test of the BrahMos missile from INS Chennai. In this test, the newly improved version of BrahMos successfully demonstrated its capability by penetrating the target 400 kilometers away in the deep sea.
