MP: Four males enter deserted underground coal mine, lifeless after inhaling poisonous gasoline

SHAHDOL: Four males who entered an deserted underground mine in Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh allegedly with the intention to gather coal or scrap have died after inhaling poisonous gasoline, a police official mentioned on Friday.

The incident occurred between 10 pm and 11 pm on Thursday in Dhanpuri, some 28 kilometres from the district headquarters, and the our bodies had been retrieved from the coal mine within the early hours of Friday, Superintendent of Police Kumar Prateek mentioned.

“The deceased have been identified as Raj Mahto (20), Hazari Kol (30), Rahul Kol (23) and Kapil Vishwakarma (21), all residents of Dhanpuri. The mine was closed for the last couple of years. Four persons entered the site, while one stood outside. The fifth person peeped inside after some time and found his associates unresponsive,” he mentioned.

He alerted others, who referred to as within the police, which put in 4 hours to retrieve the our bodies of the boys from contained in the mine, the SP mentioned.

“Initial investigations suggest the men died after inhaling toxic gas emanating from the closed mine. A case has been registered and the probe is underway,” Prateek knowledgeable.

As per residents of the neighborhood, the mine’s opening is roofed with bricks and cement, however some attempt to enter with iron rods and so on to search for coal or scrap.
