Militant concerned in April 4 assault on CRPF males killed in Srinagar encounter

SRINAGAR: A militant, who was concerned within the April 4 assault on CRPF males wherein a jawan was killed and one other injured, has been killed within the ongoing encounter with safety forces in Srinagar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar stated.

Police stated a contingent of police and CRPF males launched a joint search operation at Bishember Nagar space of uptown Srinagar within the early hours on Sunday.

He stated whereas the search operation was happening, militants hiding within the space fired on the troops.

The hearth was returned by the troops, triggering an encounter.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar stated one militant has been killed within the encounter and one other is trapped.

“The killed militant was involved in a recent attack on CRPF men in Srinagar,” he stated.

On April 4, militants had fired on two CRPF males at busy Maisuma space of Srinagar, killing a jawan and injuring one other.
