Maharashtra State transport bus catches hearth close to Nashik, second incident in two days

NASHIK: In the second such incident in two days, a Shivshahi bus of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) caught hearth on the Nashik-Pune freeway on Wednesday morning, police stated.

Nobody was injured within the incident which occurred round 8 am close to Malwadi Shivar in Sinnar tehsil of Nashik district, stated an official.

Shivshahi is a luxurious AC bus service of the state-run MSRTC.

The bus was on its method to Pune from Nashik when the drivers of passing buses observed smoke popping out from its underbelly and alerted the motive force.

The driver pulled over and requested the 45 passengers on board to get down, the police official stated.

Within minutes, flames engulfed the bus, he added.
