Maharashtra rains: Two washed away in flood waters in Bhiwandi; Hingoli villagers shifted to safer areas

THANE: Two males had been washed away within the rain-swollen water our bodies in separate incidents that occurred in Bhiwandi taluka of Maharashtra’s Thane district, officers mentioned on Saturday.

The first incident befell on Thursday evening, when 35-year-old Pintya Pandarinath Jadhav, a resident of Padgha within the taluka, had gone for fishing close to a flooded steam.

During the exercise, he fell into the water and obtained washed away, a hearth brigade official mentioned.

A search was carried for him, however he couldn’t be traced, he mentioned.

In one other incident, 19-year-old Asif Ansari, who had gone to swim in Kamvari river on Friday, obtained washed away.

Despite efforts, he couldn’t be discovered to date, one other official mentioned.

Residents of two villages in Hingoli district of Maharashtra are being shifted to security after heavy rainfall within the area induced flooding in Asana river, officers mentioned on Saturday.

So far, not less than 200 individuals have been evacuated, a prime district official mentioned.

Parts of Hingoli district, positioned in Marathwada area of the state and round 200 kms from right here, have been getting heavy showers over the previous couple of days.

“Due to the downpour, Asana river in the district flooded on Friday night. The low-lying areas in Kurunda and Kinhola villages in Vasmat tehsil were badly affected,” he informed PTI.

Although the water degree is slowly reducing now, the administration has been shifting the residents of those villages to a Zilla Parishad college close by, district collector Jitendra Papalkar mentioned.

No lack of human life has been reported to date and the state of affairs is being monitored, he mentioned.

In the 24-hour interval ending 8 am on Friday, Hingoli district recorded 230.70 mm rainfall, which is 26.84 per cent of its annual common rainfall, the district authorities mentioned in a press release.
