NEW DELHI: Maharashtra Member of Parliament, Navneet Rana, and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman S Somanath have been accorded armed VIP safety cowl by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), sources mentioned.

Rana was offered ‘Y’ class all India safety cowl on April 14 whereas Somnath was accorded ‘Y+’ class all India safety cowl on April 18. Both Rana and Somnath have been offered Central safety cowl after a risk evaluation by the Ministry of Home Affairs in its current VIP safety meet.

Rana, a former Indian actress who primarily acted in Telugu cinema, is an elected Member of Parliament from Amravati within the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as an impartial candidate.
