MUMBAI: The much-awaited growth of the Maharashtra Cabinet led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde could happen after the July 18 presidential polls, the insurgent camp of Shiv Sena MLAs indicated on Monday.

Talking to reporters right here, the insurgent Shiv Sena MLA faction’s spokesperson, Deepak Kesarkar, stated, “There is no difficulty in Cabinet expansion.”

He was responding to a query on whether or not the Cabinet growth was being delayed because of the on-going authorized battle between the insurgent camp and the Sena faction led by former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Currently, Chief Minister Shinde, who heads the insurgent camp, and his deputy Devendra Fadnavis of the BJP – each of whom took oath on June 30 – are the one members of the Cabinet.

Kesarkar stated there is a crucial assembly on July 13 in New Delhi associated to the election of the subsequent President and a consultant from the insurgent group can be attending it.

On July 14, BJP-led NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu will go to Mumbai to hunt help.

Preparations for the presidential polls will happen on July 16 and 17 earlier than voting on July 18.

Electors for the highest constitutional submit encompass Members of Parliament and MLAs.

“So, the MLAs will be busy in the presidential polls. So who will have the time to prepare for taking oath. They are not in a hurry,” he stated.

Last week, Shinde and Fadnavis visited New Delhi and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda.

Deliberations on Cabinet growth in Maharashtra have been believed to have taken place with the BJP’s high brass in the course of the go to.
