Maha: 53 held for obscene act at unlawful dance bar in Thane district

THANE: Police raided an unlawful dance bar in Dombivali metropolis in Thane district of Maharashtra and detained 53 folks, together with 26 girls, for indulging in obscene acts, an official mentioned on Monday.

He mentioned two police personnel have been despatched to the bar as decoy clients on Saturday evening. After they confirmed unlawful actions, the police raided the bar. Musical equipment and tools value Rs 30,000 have been seized.

A case has been registered in opposition to 53 folks underneath sections 294 (singing, reciting or uttering any obscene track, ballad or phrases, in or close to any public place) and 114 (Abettor current when the offence is dedicated) of the Indian Penal Code.

All of them are taken into custody, he added.
