NEW DELHI: Lok Sabha proceedings had been adjourned for the day amid continued protests by opposition members on Wednesday over the ethnic violence in Manipur.

Earlier, the House needed to be adjourned twice on account of protests by the opposition.

During the day, Congress moved an opposition-backed no-confidence movement in opposition to the federal government which was admitted by Speaker Om Birla.

It has set the stage for a showdown between the opposition and treasury benches over Manipur and different burning points.

While six payments had been launched in fast succession, the House handed a invoice to amend the Forest (Conservation) Act.

When the House met for the day, protests started quickly after members paid tributes to troopers who had died within the Kargil battle.

Opposition members sought to boost the problem of violence in Manipur with some displaying placards throughout Question Hour.

The second adjournment got here after the no-confidence movement was moved and 6 payments, together with the one to amend the Registration of Births and deaths Act, had been launched amid protests.

Before the House proceedings had been adjourned for the day, Lok Sabha handed the Forest (Conservation) Amendment Bill after a short debate.
