Karnataka: 24 die allegedly as a result of Oxygen disaster in Chamarajanagar

As many as 24 sufferers who have been being handled for Covid-19 in Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar district died within the final 24 hours as a result of its common hospital operating out of medical oxygen.
Chamarajanagar Deputy Commissioner, Dr MR Ravi stated that 23 individuals died in authorities hospitals, one individual died in a non-public hospital. “We can’t say whether all have died due to lack of oxygen,” he added
Meanwhile, District in-charge and Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Suresh Kumar has sought an in depth report from the administration. The members of the family of the deceased have staged a protest in entrance of the hospital demanding motion towards the officers.
Reacting to the incident, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa stated he has spoken to Chamarajanagar district commissioner over the incident and has additionally referred to as an emergency Cabinet assembly on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar referred to as the incident a case of felony negligence which has led to dying of individuals within the state .
“Criminal negligence has led to these 24 deaths in Karnataka. Why do CM @BSYBJP & Minister @mla_sudhakar keep lying everyday saying there is enough oxygen? Is there no accountability? How many more will be ‘killed’ because the Govt can’t supply Oxygen?,” he questioned the federal government in a tweet.
