Jharkhand: PLFI member carrying reward of Rs 2 lakh amongst 8 held

Jharkhand Police on Tuesday arrested eight members of outlawed group People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI), together with one who has a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head. Ajay Purti was carrying the reward as he’s an accused in nearly 50 circumstances, together with homicide.
The arrest comes days after Budheshwar Oraon, one other member of PLFI who was carrying a reward of Rs 15 lakh over being concerned in 103 circumstances, was killed throughout an encounter in Gumla district.
“The superintendent of police at Chaibasa received a tip that Ajay Purti, along with his team, is camping at the hilly areas surrounding the village Eeti-Birda in the jurisdiction of Bandgaon police station. A joint team of the police and CRPF personnel arrested Purti and 7 others during a combing operation,” IG Operations Amol Homkar mentioned.
Police added that each one the eight have been booked below UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act) and CLA (Criminal Law Amendment Act) amongst others and had been despatched to judicial custody.

The Police knowledgeable that they’ve seized two country-made weapons, eight rounds of ammunition, 1 wi-fi set and charger, 5 cellphones, six sim playing cards and two bikes from them.
