Jawan killed, 4 damage in Jammu encounter; demise toll in Baramula rises to 4

SRINAGAR: Two days earlier than Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s go to to Jammu and Kashmir, an encounter erupted between militants and safety forces within the Sunjwan space of Jammu wherein a jawan has been killed and 4 others have been injured. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Mukesh Singh mentioned safety forces launched a search operation within the Sunjawan space of Jammu yesterday night after receiving inputs in regards to the presence of militants within the space.

“We had reports that militants wanted to do something.  The search party of security forces came under fire from militants in the early hours today in which a security force jawan was killed and four others injured,” he mentioned.

Among the slain militants is high Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Yousuf Kantroo, who was the longest surviving LeT militant and had been lively since 2020. He had twice recycled to the militancy after the arrest.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar has mentioned Kantroo was concerned within the killing of a number of safety males and civilians termed his killing a significant success for safety forces.

The injured safety males have been evacuated to Government Medical College Jammu.

More reinforcement has been rushed to the world to tighten the siege and stop militants from escaping from the world.

The ADGP mentioned evidently militants are hiding in a home and firing on safety forces from there.

Loud explosions had been heard from the world and heavy gunfire was happening.

The administration as a precautionary measure has closed all faculties within the space whereas the safety preparations in different components of Jammu have been tightened and patrolling intensified.

Meanwhile, the encounter between militants and safety forces at Malwah space of Baramulla in north Kashmir entered the second day at the moment.

A police official mentioned two extra militants had been killed within the in a single day gunfight, taking the demise toll of militants killed within the encounter to 4.
