One police personnel and one other cop injured in an encounter that broke out between the safety forces and terrorists in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

“One police personnel SPO Mohammad Altaf has lost his life and Sg Ct Manzoor Ahmad injured in an ongoing operation in Budgam,” stated Kashmir Zone Police.

“Encounter has started at Beerwah area of Budgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” the Kashmir Zone Police (KZP) tweeted.

Earlier on late Thursday evening, one other encounter began at Badigam space of Shopian.

“Encounter has started at Badigam area of Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” the KZP stated in a tweet.
