ISRO espionage case: CBI lodges FIR in opposition to ‘erring’ cops

The CBI has registered an FIR in opposition to Kerala police personnel in a matter of alleged framing of house scientist Nambi Narayanan within the 1994 ISRO espionage case on the Supreme Court’s instructions, officers mentioned on Monday.
The apex courtroom, on April 15, ordered that the report of a high-level committee on the position of the erring police officers within the 1994 espionage case referring to ISRO scientist Narayanan be given to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
It had earlier directed the company to conduct additional investigation on the difficulty.

Narayanan, the then director of the cryogenic mission on the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), was arrested, together with the then ISRO deputy director D Sasikumaran and Fousiya Hasan, a Maldivian good friend of Rasheeda.
The CBI probe had discovered the allegations to be false.

Terming the police motion in opposition to the previous ISRO scientist “psycho-pathological treatment”, the apex courtroom had, in September 2018, mentioned his “liberty and dignity”, primary to his human rights, had been jeopardised as he was taken into custody and, finally, regardless of all of the glory of the previous, he was compelled to face “cynical abhorrence”.
