Ink assault on Maha minister: Police to summon TV journalist once more throughout probe

PUNE: Police probing the ink assault on Maharashtra minister Chandrakant Patil in Pimpri Chinchwad metropolis will summon a tv journalist once more in reference to the case, a high officer stated on Monday.

Police had arrested three individuals and summoned the tv journalist for his alleged position within the incident. He was allowed to go on Sunday late at evening.

Pimpri Chinchwad police commissioner Ankush Shinde on Monday instructed PTI the journalist will likely be summoned on Monday for additional investigation.

The ink was thrown on Patil on Saturday in an obvious protest towards his assertion that B R Ambedkar and social reformer Jyotiba Phule did not search authorities grants for working instructional establishments.

The use of the phrase “begged” by Patil, who’s the state’s minister for larger and technical schooling, stirred an argument, resulting in the ink assault.

After the incident, police suspended 10 personnel together with three officers for the safety lapse.

Patil on Sunday stated the ink was thrown on him as a part of a deliberate assault and claimed his assertion on Ambedkar and Phule was “distorted” by some folks.

Meanwhile, Pune Police have filed a case towards a person who recorded his video condemning Patil for his assertion by standing outdoors the latter’s residence in Kothrud space of Pune late Sunday evening.

“Despite police guards asking the person to go away, he did not listen and created obstruction in their duties and that is why we have registered a case against him under section 353 (criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code,” stated a police officer.
