In UP, ladies give mud tub to BJP MLA to please rain god

LUCKNOW: With monsoon taking part in truant in total jap Uttar Pradesh, leaving the area parched and folks sweating, the ladies of Maharajganj, a district adjoining Gorakhpur, carried out a novel ritual by giving mud tub to the native BJP MLA and Municipal Council chief with mud to woo Indra Dev (Rain God) on Tuesday evening.

As per the native sources, the ladies approached BJP MLA Jai Mangal Kanaujiya and Municipal Council chairman Krishna Gopal Jaiswal urging them to be part of the ritual by letting the ladies people to soak them in mud to which each Kanuajiya and Jaiswal agreed.

Interestingly, it’s believed on this area that if the elite and revered individuals of the realm have been bathed in mud, the Rain God will get happy and blesses the folks with rainfall. After drenching the duo with mud, the ladies sang people songs to please Indra Dev (Rain God).

The folks of jap UP are frightened in regards to the paddy crop which is getting badly hit on account of poor rainfall within the area.

“People are suffering in sultry weather, crops are getting dried. This is a ritual based on an old belief so we decided to be a part of it if it helps in any way,” stated the BJP MLA.
