Home Ministry can release Unlock 5.0 Guidelines today, know what is the preparation of Delhi Government

After a nationwide lockdown due to Corona, the country is now entering the fifth stage of unlock. Today the guidelines can be announced by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Meanwhile, the tenure of the current order of the Delhi government regarding the waiver of the Corona lockdown norms is going to end today i.e. Wednesday. 

Unlock-5 guidelines are likely to be issued today by the central government, while it will be studied by the Delhi government. There is a possibility of issuing new orders regarding waiver of certain norms within two days after that. A senior official of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority has given this information.

As per the Centre’s guidelines, state governments are allowed to enforce stringent unlock rules, but are prohibited from banning them, although the Delhi government may take decisions on some important fronts.

School and educational institute
Delhi government is going to take a fresh decision on this by 5 October. Under the current rules, students from class 9 to 12th are allowed to attend their schools voluntarily and higher education institutions can only be opened for research scholars and postgraduate students. In Delhi, however, according to an order of the state government, all educational institutions are closed till 5 October.

Multiplexes and theaters
Even though the central government allows multiplexes, cinema halls and theaters to be reopened under their unlocked plans, the final decision in Delhi will be taken by Lt. Governor (L-G) Anil Baijal, who is the chairman of DDMA. The DDMA is expected to meet later this week.

A senior official of the Multiplex Association of India said that the new SOP includes gaps between seats, complete disinfection of each show’s crash hall and complete e-ticketing and contactless check-in.

Number of people in the assembly
Currently the central government guidelines allow meetings up to 100 people. However, the government is not aware of it yet. This essentially means that the city is restricted by a gathering of more than 50 people. The maximum limit of 50 was initially set for marriage and has been implemented from 1 June under the guidelines of the Central Government. Under the guidelines currently in force in Delhi, it applies to all gatherings, political, religious, cultural, educational etc.

The Durga Puja festival is also scheduled in the third week of October and most of the organizers are still in a dilemma, yet to be received from the police or the government.
