Gujarat obtained no Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan funds for 2022-23

AHMEDABAD: The Central authorities has not allotted funds for Gujarat below the revamped Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) for 2022-23. The centrally-sponsored RGSA goals to strengthen the capacities of rural native governance establishments to be able to ship on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The authorities says for efficient implementation of the scheme, the utilisation of funds is carefully monitored by states via conferences.

Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC)’s Gujarat president Naishad Desai, mentioned: “The BJP government’s focus is only on cities, and in Gujarat, the government has stopped focusing on villages after 1995.”

“If the BJP government in Gujarat is just concerned with expanding the Municipal corporation area and incorporating 40 per cent of the villages, how will the government announce funds to local Sarpanches?” Sandeep Kumar, the Development Commissioner of Gujarat Government Panchayat, Village Housing, and Village Development, he didn’t reply to queries.
