Govt: Rare illness coverage shall be finalised by March finish

After a rap from the Delhi High Court, the Centre has mentioned {that a} coverage for uncommon ailments drafted final 12 months was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic and can seemingly be finalised by March 31.
The High Court had informed the Centre final week to offer a selected timeline for the finalisation and notification of the coverage. The ministry, in its reply dated January 20, informed the court docket that the 2020 draft coverage was earlier positioned in public area for suggestions, however its finalisation was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“In the meantime…. DGHS constituted an Expert Committee to examine the comments/suggestions. The Expert Committee submitted its recommendations, which are under examination to finalise the draft policy,” reads the reply.
