Government orders forensic probe in 4 hearth in 2 wheelers; to take motion after report, says Gadkari

NEW DELHI: The authorities has taken very severely the 4 incidents of fireside in two-wheeler electrical automobiles (EVs) up to now one week and can take acceptable motion towards the producers after a forensic investigation, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari informed Lok Sabha on Thursday.

He additionally mentioned that as on March 25, as many as 10,76,420 EVs had been registered within the nation and 1,742 public charging stations (PCS) had been operational.

“A total of four incidents of fire in two-wheeler EVs have been reported in the past one week and this is a very serious issue. We have ordered a forensic investigation into each of the individual events from experts of Centre for Fire Explosive, DRDO and IISc, Bengaluru,” he mentioned throughout Question Hour.

The minister mentioned India’s requirements for approval of EV and batteries are apt with the worldwide requirements and the federal government will take acceptable motion after the precise technical purpose behind the accidents is thought.

“We are waiting for the report from the expert committee. After receiving the report, we will find out exactly what is the reason behind that. On the basis of that report, we will take appropriate action against the manufacturer,” he mentioned.

However, he mentioned, he felt that the obvious purpose for these incidents was excessive temperature.

“We are still waiting for the report of the expert committee. After we receive the report of the expert committee, we will take appropriate action. We will also take sufficient measures for the safety of the people,” he mentioned.

Replying one other supplementary, Gadakari mentioned the central authorities is absolutely dedicated to the Paris accord on setting and safety of ecology and setting.

He mentioned the federal government has proposes to supply 650 roadside facilities on nationwide highways out of which, work on 40 of them have already began.
