FSSAI CEO Arun Singhal emphasises on improvement of environment-friendly packaging

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) underneath the Ministry of Commerce and Industry organised a one-day academia meet on the subject, ‘Future roadmap for secure, safe and sustainable meals packaging’ on Wednesday. 

The occasion was held on the Eros Hotel in Nehru Place which was attended by entrepreneurs and professionals of the trade.  Arun Singhal, CEO, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) was the chief visitor whereas SN Jha, DDG, Agricultural Engineering of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) was the visitor of honour.

Singhal emphasised on improvement and use of environment-friendly packaging. Jha spoke concerning the how there’s much less awarness concerning the newest developments and applied sciences within the subject of packaging. He urged to conduct extra seminars to debate such developments. There had been technical periods adopted with a ‘analysis conclave’ whereby information associated to the topic was mentioned by distinguished personalities of the trade. 

Others who had been current throughout the occasion had been Sunil Jain, vice chairman, IIP, Subodh Gupta, former chairman, IIP,  Tanweer Alam, director, IIP and Madhab Chakraborty, joint director IIP. Alam, whereas giving the welcome tackle highlighted the significance of packaging and the way the method  provides model and worth to the product.
