Fests, festivals throughout states to attract extra worldwide vacationers

NEW DELHI:  The Centre has deliberate to showcase vibrant festivals and festivals being held all year long throughout states on a world platform to draw worldwide vacationers. The ministry of tourism is engaged on proposals to assist states to current their festivals resembling Haryana’s Surajkund Mela, Pushkar Fair in Rajasthan and Nagaland’s Hornbill Festival. 

Next the ministry will interact famous social media influencers to encourage worldwide friends to go to India.  Senior officers mentioned that the ministry will choose festivals already listed on ‘Utsav’ portal to endorse lesser-known festivals and promote them worldwide.

Speaking at an occasion on Thursday, union tourism and tradition minister G Kishan Reddy mentioned the Utsav portal was launched to attract extra guests from overseas, these cultural occasions could be highlighted in worldwide markets. “So far, 1,000 festivals are listed on Utsav,” a tourism minsitry official mentioned.
