Farmers’ protest: Internet suspended for two days at Singhu, Ghazipur, Tikri borders

New Delhi: In a bid to cease rumour-mongering and ensuing clashes on the protest websites on Delhi borders, web companies have been suspended at Singhu, Ghazipur, and Tikri borders areas.
The Union Home Ministry on Saturday issued a notification about suspension of web companies until Jan 3.
“… it is necessary and expedient to order the temporary suspension of internet services in the areas of Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri, and their adjoining areas in the NCT of Delhi from 11 pm on January 29 to 11 pm on January 31,” the Home Ministry order learn.
The Ministry knowledgeable that these companies have been suspended to take care of public security and to avert public emergency.
The Haryana authorities has already suspended all of the cell web, SMS, and dongle companies in 17 districts together with Sonipat, Palwal, and Jhajjar until 5 pm on January 30. The voice calls, nonetheless, are exempted as earlier from the suspension.
