Failed theft bid results in leakage of BPCL’s diesel pipeline in Thane

THANE: National refiner Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) on Thursday mentioned there was a leakage in its diesel pipeline connecting Mumbai and Manmad in Maharashtra’s district following a failed try to steal the gasoline.

A gang of miscreants made the unsuccessful bid to faucet the gasoline in Shil Phata space close to Thane metropolis early Thursday morning, which led to a minor leakage of the pipeline and a brief shutdown of the power.

The pipeline is up and absolutely purposeful now, a   spokesman mentioned.

Thane Municipal Corporation’s regional catastrophe administration cell chief Avinash Sawant mentioned the leakage within the 18-inches excessive stress diesel pipeline began at 5.21 am close to a gasoline godown at Shil Phata close to Thane and the gasoline spilled into the realm.

The space was then cordoned off for the restore work, he mentioned, including that Turbhe police officers from Navi Mumbai, native firemen and a BPCL group rushed to the spot and began the work to plug the leakage.
