BHUBANESWAR: Eminent Odia actor Raimohan Parida allegedly died by suicide at his home at Palasuni within the metropolis on Friday. He was 58. Parida’s demise has left the Odia movie trade and his followers shocked.

Police sources stated the actor ended his life by hanging from a ceiling fan when his spouse Ranjita and two daughters weren’t of their home. His physique has been despatched for postmortem and a forensic crew visited the spot to research the matter.

Parida, a local of Keonjhar district’s Udaypur, was identified for his villainous roles in cinema, teleserials and jatra. After graduating from Karanjia College, he pursued performing training in Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya in Bhubaneswar.

Starting his profession as a theatre director, Parida entered the movie trade as an actor in 1985 and went on to do over 100 movies. His first function as a detrimental character was in ‘Pakakambal Potchhata’ movie by Prashant Nanda in 1986.

What introduced him identify and fame was the detrimental characters that he performed reverse veteran actor and his trainer at Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya Bijay Mohanty.

Films like Sindura Nuhe Khela Ghara, Pathara Khasuchi Bada Deula Ru and Janmadata that Parida did with Mohanty have been nicely appreciated.
