ED arrests TMC strongman Anubrata Mondal in cattle smuggling case

KOLKATA: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday arrested TMC strongman Anubrata Mondal after interrogating him in Asansol jail for over 5 hours in reference to laundering cash which is suspected to be proceeds of cattle smuggling.

Earlier, Mondal was arrested by the CBI in reference to the cattle smuggling case and he was presently in judicial custody.

“Mondal will spend Thursday night time within the jail. We will search his custodial interrogation earlier than the Justice of the Peace of the Asansol courtroom on Friday. We will petition to take him to Delhi for interrogation,’’ stated an ED official.

Unlike former minister Partha Chatterjee, who was arrested in a case associated to irregularities in recruitment in colleges, Mamata introduced that the occasion was beside Mondal. But the occasion suspended Chatterjee saying he could be inducted within the TMC as soon as he’ll show himself not responsible in a courtroom of legislation.
